A chance meeting in a pawn shop led to a personal friendship and musical partnership for Mike Taylor and Tony Chamberlist that has endured for close to 17 years. Hundreds upon hundreds of performances later, Acoustic Groove remains one of the Lower Mainland’s best loved popular music ensembles, delivering imaginative versions of popular music spanning a wide variety of genres, from pop to blues to soul to reggae to country to jazz! Everything they present bears Mike’s signature improvisational vocals and guitar playing, and Tony’s unmistakeable mastery of the djembe, reinventing the instrument as a “drum set in one drum”.
