Chicago
The Grammy Award-winning self-proclaimed “rock & roll band with horns” Chicago will be appearing for two shows at the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver on March 14 & 15, 2014. Chicago has done it all … five consecutive #1 albums, thirteen platinum albums, twenty-one Top 10 singles, a Grammy and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Formed in their namesake city in 1967, the group’s music mixed rock, pop and jazz in a completely new way. Propelled by innovative horn arrangements, Chicago’s commercial potential was soon apparent when in 1970, they hit the charts with their first single, “Make Me Smile”. Hits to follow included “If You Leave Me Now”, “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?”, “Beginnings”, “Color My World”, “Saturday in the Park”, “Just You ‘N’ Me”, “Old Days”, “Baby, What A Big Surprise” and “25 or 6 to 4”. Today’s line-up includes original band members Robert Lamm on vocals & keyboards, Lee Loughnane on trumpet, James Pankow on trombone and Walt Parazaider on woodwinds.
Tickets are $89.50, $99.50 & $109.50 (plus service charges) and go on sale on Thursday, November 7 at 10 am.
