Joe Satriani

8:00pm | Sunday Apr 24, 2016

Legendary guitarist Joe Satriani will wrap up his North American Surfing to Shockwave tour at Hard Rock Casino Vancouver on Sunday, April 24, 2016.

It was in 1986 when Satriani released his first studio album, Not of This Earth but it wasn’t until a year later that the New York native broke through to the masses following the release of his second album, Surfing with the Alien. The album – which produced three hit singles including the title track along with “Satch Boogie” and “Always With Me, Always With You” – reached #29 on the Billboard 200 and went on to earn Platinum certification.

It also caught the attention of Mick Jagger who asked Satriani to be his lead guitarist on his first-ever solo tour. Later albums spawned such hit singles as “Big Bad Moon”, “Flying in a Blue Dream”, “Friends”, “Luminous Flesh Giants” and “If I Could Fly”.

In addition to coinciding with the release of his fifteenth studio album, Shockwave Supernova, the tour is also a celebration of Satriani’s 30-year career and will include songs he hasn’t played live in years. Joining Satriani on the road will be bassist Bryan Beller and drummer Marco Minnemann of The Aristocrats along with progressive rock multi-instrumentalist Mike Keneally all of whom are featured on the album.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 10:00 am and are $64.50 & $54.50 (plus service charges).
