Overtime Jam Session

7:00pm | Sunday May 15, 2016

Canadian country singer-songwriters Aaron Pritchett and Bobby Wills along with iconic alternative rockers Odds will be the headliners at this year’s Vancouver Canucks Alumni’s Overtime Jam Session, a special benefit concert taking place on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Hard Rock Casino Vancouver’s Molson Canadian Theatre.

Aaron Pritchett’s string of hits include “My Way”, “Big Wheel”, “Done You Wrong”, “Let’s Get Rowdy”, “Hell Bent for Buffalo” and the anthem, “Hold My Beer”. Having toured with such notables as Brooks and Dunn, Alan Jackson and Toby Keith, Pritchett has gained a significant following across the country and has garnered many accolades and awards including numerous Juno nominations and CCMA Awards for “Independent Male Artist of the Year” and for “Songwriter of the Year”.

It was in 2010 when Calgary native Bobby Wills released his debut album, Man With No Past. His second album, If It Was That Easy was released two years later followed in 2014 by Crazy Enough. His chart-toppers include “Somebody Will”, “Never Didn’t Love You” and “Undressed”. A consecutive Canadian Country Music Association nominee for “Male Artist of the Year” and for “Songwriter of the Year”, Wills released his most recent album, Tougher Than Love last month. The 6-track EP features the single, “Won’t You Be Mine” which is already a Top 10 hit.

Odds’ journey began in Vancouver in the late 80’s with their first album, Neopolitan being released in 1991. Their follow-up album, Bed Bugs was released in 1993 and spawned the hit singles, “Heterosexual Man” and “It Falls Apart”. The group’s 1995 album, Good Weird Feeling yielded six Top 40 singles including “Truth Unfold”, “Eat My Brain” and “Satisfied” followed the next year with Nest which featured the hit singles, “Someone Who’s Cool” and “Make You Mad”.

“Captain Kirk” – the legendary Canucks goaltender, Kirk McLean – is looking forward to this year’s event and wants fans to know that whether they show up to hear the music or to meet their favourite hockey legends, they are in for a few surprises. “We’ve got some special guests waiting in the wings,” he says. “It could just come unplugged once things get rolling.”
